Takeout tastiness at Una Takeaway
My favourite pizza in town has to be Una Pizza. The staple on 17th Avenue is always packed to the brim with tons of people eager to get in and enjoy their ‘za. I know I’ve rushed to beat the crowds by having dinner at 5 o’clock just to make sure I can get into the restaurant. That’s why I’m super excited that the Una brand has expanded to another shop right next door: Una Takeaway.
This takeout-based shop has a bunch of the Una favourites along with a Rosso coffee counter and tons of delicious baked goods. It was so unexpected to find an entire display case of droolworthy bakery items. Some highlights are the pain au chocolate and the fruit tarts. Other yummy additions are the chia pudding and the whole range of sandwich options that will make lunchtime a snap.
There’s also a curated selection of take home frozen meals like lasagna and small batches of pasta sauce and salad dressings to pick up on the go. And of course, we can’t forget the pizza which you can order for takeout, delivery, or by the slice. It’s the exact same pizza they serve at the main restaurant but without all the crowds. I’m a big fan of the slice option ‘cause I’m all for instant gratification and Una pizza can solve my hangry ways.
At the back of the store, you will find another hidden gem. Frenchie’s Wine Bar is tucked away for those that are curious enough to take a visit. It’s chill speakeasy vibes make for the perfect night out for a glass of wine and delicious charcuterie meats all made in-house at Una.
