Win tickets to see Duran Duran at Roundup MusicFest

Stampede is just around the corner and it wouldn’t be a boot-stomping good time without all the amazing musical acts that will be dropping into Cowtown for the festivities! This year’s newly-minted Roundup MusicFest has put together an amazing show at Shaw Millenium Park on Tuesday, July 11th. The show will feature a truly eclectic lineup of bands that will get you rocking out all night long.

Tickets are on sale now and I think it’s awesome that a portion of proceeds raised at this year’s event will be donated to the Calgary Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC). There are a lot of unique challenges for military personnel and their families and the MFRC does a great job to help our Canadian Armed Forces. They serve over 1,800 military and veteran families in Southern Alberta alone! Stampede partying for a good cause is always worthy in my books.

Canadian indie darlings Walk Off the Earth will get the party started with their fun blend of alternative pop and rocks songs. I love all their covers that they do so I hope they do a mix of originals and other Top 40 faves.

Dance-pop duo Capital Cities will keep the night alive with their blend of synthpop jams like this 2011 hit.

And the night will be capped off with a performance from rock icons Duran Duran! I’m quite partial to Rio and hope to see it live. Fingers crossed!
