Find Wonderland at ZOOLIGHTS

Just some of the fun at Calgary ZOOLIGHTS.

The Calgary Zoo’s annual winter tradition is in full swing! ZOOLIGHTS is now on until January 6, 2018 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. The lights festival is bigger and better with more lights than ever before. In fact, the Zoo ran out of lights twice during the setup of the all the displays (thank goodness for Canadian Tire lol). As always, the event provides for family-friendly fun while supporting wildlife conservation. This year’s ZOOLIGHTS focuses on how the animals interact with their habitats looking at hibernation, migration and adaptation. Various activities around the Zoo focus on these three areas such as a hibernation den and other fun station games.

If walking through a glowing winter wonderland wasn’t enough, this year’s ENMAX conservatory brings the joy of Alice in Wonderland to life. In the butterfly enclosure you’ll find the Mad Hatter world with a full-on tea party to boot. It makes for the perfect Instagram op and a nice way to warm up from the outdoors. On the other side, you’ll head down the rabbit hole in the Garden of Life. There you’ll see different Alice displays while the eyes of the Cheshire Cat watch on.  And for a touch of the holiday spirit, Santa will be holding down the Queen’s Court for the traditional photo-taking.

Check out my photos below to see just some of the ZOOLIGHTS brightest attractions.
