I love going to restaurants that like to shake things up every now and again. While there is comfort in picking the same foods you already know and enjoy, I appreciate trying new flavours, dishes and seasonal ingredients when I’m eating out. Just in time for fall, NOtaBLE has put together refreshed menu items for brunch, lunch and dinner. The northwest restaurant has built up a reputation over the years as a place for quality eats and I always have a great (and filling!) time at NOtaBLE. I went for a View this Post

Just west of Calgary off of highway 1 on the way to Banff, but before you hit the Rocky Mountains, you will find some of the best cattle being bred in the country.
CL Ranches is one of the few cattle ranches left in Western Canada. I had the chance to go out on a tour with the folks at Canadian Beef to actually see where my food comes from! Other than the cows I see at the Calgary Stampede or the cattle I drive past on road trips, I’ve never actually seen a View this Post

Eating greens doesn’t have to be bland and boring. Summertime salads can be the tastiest love affair and as zesty and fresh as the blazing sun. You just gotta mix up those lettuces with the right blend of add-ons and dressing to make one delicious salad. You’ve probably been to local dining faves Divino and Cilantro, but did you know that the team behind these classic restaurants also has its own grocery brand to take home too? Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts is also the home of CRMR Kitchen, a line of natural and locally View this Post

Kombucha may be relatively new to the Calgary scene, but the ladies behind Wild Tea Kombucha are trusting that the health drink alterative is more than a fad. Emily Baadsvik and Brigette Freel have been working together since 2015 to perfect their Wild Tea Kombucha blends. In just those few short years, the brand can now be found in over 50 locations across Western Canada including big grocers like Sobeys and Save-on-Foods as well as niche and independent retailers and restaurants.

When a restaurant’s beautiful ambiance is paired with delicious food and dishes, it makes for a most wonderful dining experience. Foreign Concept may be the new kid on the block, but they are serving up delightful Asian fusion for Calgarians to explore and enjoy.
In the space formerly occupied by the Vicious Circle cocktail bar, Foreign Concept owner and chef Duncan Ly is finding his groove with his first solo dining enterprise. The restaurant space itself is a modern take on an View this Post

First came the freshly squeezed lemonade to quench Calgarians’ thirst. Then came the mini donut popsicle that was all the rage at Stampede. Now the local team behind the Family Squeezed and Family Freezed brands is ready with another delectable dessert craze: edible cookie dough. The addition of Cookie Dough YYC to Calgary’s sweets scene is both unique and welcome.
Owner and ‚Äúhead squeeze‚ÄĚ Jennifer Andrews tells me that the idea for edible cookie dough came from her childhood. ‚ÄúWho doesn’t love cookie dough? It was the next obvious View this Post

Calgary Co-op’s Grape Escape tasting events are super fun (hello tasty wine samples) and super educational to learn more about the available wines and liquors that you might want to take home. The twice-a-year events bring together a wide assortment of vendors, wineries, breweries and distillers all together into one place. I’m always game to try new flavours, grow my wine knowledge and find new faves to add to my own collection.
What’s fun about wandering through the halls of Grape Escape is that you’ll get exposed to drinks you may never take View this Post

Life can get pretty busy – work, school, sleep, fitness, eat, and repeat. ¬†So sometimes it’s nice to just treat yo’ self and order takeout rather than cook the non-existent things in your fridge. Skip the Dishes does just that by letting you order your favourite foods from the local restaurants you love. When faced with the prospect of only microwave popcorn and celery in my kitchen, I decided to turn to Skip the Dishes to order in my preferred sushi rolls from the always tasty Goro and Gun.
