Find your escape at the Kananaskis Nordic Spa

Say hello to the beautiful Kananaskis Nordic Spa.

Like any girl, I love to get pampered at the spa. There’s nothing like a little rest and relaxation to help you wind down from the daily grind of life, family, kids, work and more. But you’ve probably never had a spa visit like the unique alpine experience now being offered at the Kananaskis Nordic Spa.

Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, just 45 minutes west of Calgary, the Kananaskis Nordic Spa is earning some rave reviews and for good reason. Focussing on a mix of hydrotherapy and massage, the spa offers View this Post

The beautiful views from the top of Sulphur Mountain.

There’s nothing like that fresh, mountain air mingled with the scent of pine all around you. You’ll get all that and so much more atop the newly-renovated Banff Gondola Summit. Brewster Canada invested $26 million dollars on the redevelopment project to upgrade the facility. What’s cool is that they managed to build up on the existing space so as to limit the environmental impacts, while adding in tons of cool new features. The new facilities have a smaller environmental footprint through energy efficient technologies, solar panels and materials that integrate with View this Post

Experience the Cool Little Towns of Alberta

There’s something about hay bales that feels so Alberta…

I’m a lifelong Albertan but I am sad to admit that I have not visited much of our fair province. That all changed when I set out on a day trip to explore just what Alberta has to offer. There are so many cool little towns just south of Calgary to visit, many less than an hour away! That’s less time than it would take from to get from the N.W. of Tuscany down to the S.E. of Mahogany. Leaving the city traffic behind, my friend and I hit the highway View this Post

Find beauty and excitement in the air and all you have to do is look up! High River is host to the annual Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival. The event features balloons from all over Canada as well as international competitors from as far away as Lithuania and the United Kingdom. The Canadian pilots also compete for the national title during the course of the festival to be crowned top balloonist.

Locals can watch the skies for the balloons as they complete their flights each day and evening (weather permitting of course). A great family event to take the View this Post
