The lemurs have landed at the Calgary Zoo

Welcome to the Land of Lemurs at the Calgary Zoo.

While the pandas are all the rage at The Calgary Zoo, there is another black-and-white critter that you’ll love to visit.  The Land of Lemurs exhibit has brought these furry and adorable African animals together for Calgarians to learn and enjoy from. The lemurs were chosen as a way to educate the public and help conserve these very endangered species. The Calgary Zoo will also be working on lemur reforestation and repopulation projects in their native Madagascar.

Backstage Pass Tours at Studio Bell

It isn’t often that you get the chance to peek into the private side of a cultural icon, but art lovers can rejoice with the new Glenbow Museum exhibit featuring Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Frida Kahlo: Her Photos marks its Canadian debut here in Calgary with an intimate series of Kahlo’s personal photos. The private collection of photos stayed hidden for decades after the artist had passed, but finally was revealed to the public in 2007. Northern Reflections window displays brings augmented reality to Calgary

Look closely at the phone – do you see how it looks different than the painted window? That’s augmented reality at play at the Northern Reflections window displays.

They may look like your typical painted window displays, but with a twist! Downtown Calgary and the Buds of Buds art collective have teamed up to create six unique augmented reality window displays that turn a static piece of art into an animated piece of fun!
