Eating greens doesn’t have to be bland and boring. Summertime salads can be the tastiest love affair and as zesty and fresh as the blazing sun. You just gotta mix up those lettuces with the right blend of add-ons and dressing to make one delicious salad. You’ve probably been to local dining faves Divino and Cilantro, but did you know that the team behind these classic restaurants also has its own grocery brand to take home too? Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts is also the home of CRMR Kitchen, a line of natural and locally View this Post
Squee! The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo just keeps getting bigger and better every year! I love seeing this Calgary event grow into such a cultural force locally, nationally and even internationally. It isn’t often that Calgary gets visited by so many celebrities all at once, but the Calgary Expo provides the perfect opportunities to see all your favourite cult stars from comics, TV, film and more. The Calgary Expo is a four-day affair running April 27 -30, 2017. They will be bringing tons of guests to the show and View this Post
There’s something about “Saturday night” that makes me want to break out my Dance Mix 95 cassette tape and jam. And now that Double Zero is hosting its After Dark parties on Saturday nights, I’m having even more 90’s flashbacks.
For the folks looking for a grown-up night on the town, Double Zero downtown is the place to go on Saturday night. The restaurant has set up $5 Prosecco bubbly by the glass and local DJ talents like Chad LaTulippe are spinning funky beats and soul-filled tunes. The lights go down and music goes up at 9 pm.
Winter is still going strong in Calgary, forcing us to burrow into our homes to nest and stay warm. Well, if the cabin fever is getting to you, it’s time to get inspired with the upcoming Calgary Home + Garden Show taking place at the BMO Centre on March 2-5, 2017. Do some touch-ups, upgrade a room or two, or start brand new with tons of big ideas and trusted advice at the four-day event. The snow is going to keep us cooped up a little while longer so might as well make home an even better place to be, View this Post
One of the things I enjoy most about the holiday season is seeing all the holiday plays! Alberta Theatre Projects’ latest show comes from Calgary’s very own Rebecca Northan, and her take on the classic fairytale of Cinderella set in modern-day Calgary. Now how could that not be a recipe for mirth and merriment? Slipper: A Distincly Calgarian Cinderella Story is another chapter in the hilarious Northan repertoire filled with charm and wit about life in Calgary. The show is running until December 31st at the Martha Cohen Theatre.

Giving back during the holidays is as easy as buying a spring roll at Edo Japan. What does that mean exactly? Until January 1, 2017, Edo Japan will donate 25 cents to Canada’s food banks for every spring roll that they sell. Delicious, crispy spring rolls for the better good! Yes, that’s an easy win for all of us. I can’t wait to get my hands on that deep-fried roll of happiness.
Last year, Edo raised over $74,000 for food banks across the country and with more and more Calgarians using food banks each month, it’s never been View this Post
