Hot chocolate bombs are the hottest confection treat to hit our Instagram feeds in 2020. The delicious cocoa treats are delicious fun. If you haven’t seen what it is, check out the video below:
I made another hot cocoa bomb by dipping a smaller round balloon in melted chocolate (make sure it’s not hot!)-hung it from a clip on a bamboo skewer to set, then popped the balloon & filled it with mini marshmallows & cocoa mix (cocoa + icing sugar) @CBCEyeopener @CBCCalgary pic.twitter.com/LbCSbyStFz— Julie Van Rosendaal (@dinnerwithjulie) November 17, 2020
Are you hooked? There are many Calgary bakeries and artisans putting together local hot chocolate bombs for the holidays. Mmm, I think we all need a little marshmallow surprise at home these days. For most, these bombs can last a couple of months if stored in a dry location so they can definitely make it until Christmas as stocking stuffers and gifts. Check out this list of where to buy.

The Chocolate Lab
Now get ready for the mother of chocolate bombs. Meet The Chocolate Lab’s giant drinking chocolate Snowballs! These bombs are triple the size and made with both dark and white chocolate. There’s no cocoa powder at all, but you’ll still end up with a rich, chocolate-y drink experience (with tons of marshmallows as you can see). This Snowball requires a litre of milk to melt it down so it’s perfect for sharing with the whole family. You can order online or visit their warehouse.
Look at how cute these Alforno Bakery chocolate bombs are! Shaped like little ornaments, these treats are available in singles for $12 or a box of three for $27. Stop by the coffee shop to pick up your set!
