I love going to restaurants that like to shake things up every now and again. While there is comfort in picking the same foods you already know and enjoy, I appreciate trying new flavours, dishes and seasonal ingredients when I’m eating out. Just in time for fall, NOtaBLE has put together refreshed menu items for brunch, lunch and dinner. It’s that time of year again! YYC Pizza Week is coming up Friday, September 22 – Sunday, October 1. The ten day pizza affair will feature one-of-a-kind specialty pizzas that are only available during YYC Pizza Week. Over 40 restaurants will be taking part in the thick crust, thin crust, gluten-free and unique pizza categories. Just west of Calgary off of highway 1 on the way to Banff, but before you hit the Rocky Mountains, you will find some of the best cattle being bred in the country.
CL Ranches is one of the few cattle ranches left in Western Canada. I had the chance to go out on a tour with the folks at Canadian Beef to actually see where my food comes from! Kombucha may be relatively new to the Calgary scene, but the ladies behind Wild Tea Kombucha are trusting that the health drink alterative is more than a fad. Emily Baadsvik and Brigette Freel have been working together since 2015 to perfect their Wild Tea Kombucha blends. In just those few short years, the brand can now be found in over 50 locations across Western Canada including big grocers like Sobeys and Save-on-Foods as well as niche and independent retailers and restaurants.
