I like learning about new sustainability initiatives that can make a difference for the environment. This Ford Motor Company x Jose Cuervo collaboration totally caught my attention for it’s unique partnership. Ford has been working on turning food byproducts and food waste into environmentally-friendly vehicle parts to put in their cars. What the heck?! How can food be turned into car seats and cup holders? That’s what a whole research department at Ford is working on by figuring out how to alter chemicals and molecules to make food products into sustainable fabrics, containers and more that can be used inside View this Post
My favourite pizza in town has to be Una Pizza. The staple on 17th Avenue is always packed to the brim with tons of people eager to get in and enjoy their ‘za. I know I’ve rushed to beat the crowds by having dinner at 5 o’clock just to make sure I can get into the restaurant. That’s why I’m super excited that the Una brand has expanded to another shop right next door: Una Takeaway.
This takeout-based shop has a bunch of the Una favourites along with a Rosso coffee counter and tons of delicious baked View this Post

From the outside, Ten Foot Henry is a simple storefront with a shingle of a cartoon boy’s head. On the inside is a beautifully decorated space with wood beams, gorgeous green plants and bright finishings. The newly-opened restaurant is the latest addition to 1st Street SW and brings a delicious mix of dishes to the ‘hood. Avenue Magazine has a great feature about how the restaurant came to be and the origin of the unusual name so I won’t get too much into View this Post

The 4th annual festival will be kicking off this weekend starting May 6th running all the way through to May 15th. In the grand tradition of weeklong food battles, Calgary chefs are bringing out the big beef for their burger concoctions this week. You’ll find anything and everything topped on these hamburgers from tuna to French fries to fried onions. And let’s not forget the buns – sesame seeds, brioche-style, pretzel tops.
