Find Your Mindful Collective

Life is pretty busy and hectic so it can be pretty hard to find time for yourself sometimes. Between working a full-time job, cooking, cleaning, laundry, family, friends, blogging and more, I have no idea where my time goes! It’s just a continuous stream of go-go-go.

My friend Noelle felt similarly with with her busy life as a stay-at-home mom of 3 kids. She wanted to find her own personal outlet outside of parenthood and came up with Your Mindful Collective, a website for personal growth for people on the go. Sounds right up my alley!

Love for the black-haired girls

Black hair, don’t care.

Show some love for the black-haired girls in your life

You got your brunettes. You got your redheads. Blondes apparently have the most fun. But what about all us black haired beauties out there?

I’ve always wondered why black-haired girls don’t get their own name grouping. It’s the kind of odd question you come up with as a child but there never seemed to be a good answer. This seemingly random question came to mind for me when I came across Vancouver clothier BRUNETTE the Label. Their cheeky clothes pay homage to the hair labels View this Post

So You Want to Be an Influencer

So You Want to be an influencer

Providing my insights at the Next Big Thing conference.

The first-ever Next Big Thing conference has wrapped up and it was an amazing day of inspiration, creativity and motivation. I had a great day learning from some of my local faves like Lisa and Ian Davies of the Uncommons, designer Lauren Popadiuk, photograher Lori Andrews and more.

I sat on a panel called “So You Want to be an Influencer” to talk about my tips for, well, being an influencer. It was a short 30 minute session which flew by so quickly. I got great feedback from attendees View this Post

Winnie Cooper makes math cool

Nobody likes to be pigeonholed into only one thing that defines them through the rest of their life. That’s why I love this video featuring actress Danica McKellar and how she has changed and evolved over time. The Wonder Years child star will forever be known as Winnie Cooper, the love interest of the earnest Kevin Arnold. Actors that find themselves in career-defining roles can have a difficult time shedding that character. And for the longest time, that’s what happened to Danica until she discovered her love of math. Yup, that’s right. Math!

I’m in the middle of reading Sheryl Sandberg’s corporate gamechanger, “Lean In” about women, work, and leadership. I’m only in the early chapters so once I’m done I will try to circle back with some thoughts about the book. Sheryl is known as a leading activist for gender equality in the workforce. As a young professional navigating the corporate ladder myself, I’m always keen to find female inspiration to help guide my way. I’ve been following Sheryl’s feed on social and a few months ago she shared this award-winning commercial for an India laundry detergent View this Post
