Calgary is the birthplace to many famous figures from singer Jann Arden to wrestler Bret Hart to actress Elisha Cuthbert. But the one of the most popular Calgary claim-to-fames is probably the beloved Caesar cocktail. Believed to have been created by bartender Walter Chell in 1969, the spicy drink is known for its blend of vodka, Clamato, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce (give-or-take a celery stalk or asparagus stem). What’s known as the traditional Caesar has been turned upside-down at the newly-minted KLEIN/HARRIS. View this Post
I’ve beeen on a bit of a role with my foodie posts lately, so I figured I’d keep up the trend with a look at another recipe. This time around, I focussed on a delectable dessert – the brownie. I was inspired to make this sweet treat when the fabulous Dinner with Julie shared her super simple three ingredient recipe for Nutella brownies.
Now, I’m not sure what it is about Nutella that makes people lose their minds. It even happens to me and I don’t understand it. There’s just something about this hazelnut spread that makes you both happy View this Post

I’m writing this blog as I’m watching the season premiere of Masterchef Canada on my PVR. The show reminds me of the great home cooking I have been doing lately (if not exactly Masterchef worthy lol) and I’m excited to share with y’all. One of my life resolutions this year is to try out new foods and recipes. I’ve been finding my cooking inspiration View this Post

Calgary’s love affair with suds and brews can be seen far and wide with the endless number of beer halls, restaurants and local breweries that have been bubbling up in our city’s beer scene. Drinking local has never been so much fun – that is until you take part in one of the Calgary Brewery Tours.
This new local and tourist attraction is exactly as it sounds – a tour of Calgary breweries with many sips to be had with other like-minded fellows. I took part in a condensed preview version of the tour to see exactly what it’s View this Post

Alberta is experiencing a craft brewery renaissance! Breweries have been popping up all over the province and making their way into restaurants and shops all over Calgary. I’m a big fan of supporting local so being able to drink local is right up my alley. These five breweries have only been around for a couple of years or less which means you probably haven’t had a chance to taste them – yet. With an emphasis on small batches and quality ingredients, you won’t want to wait too long to give them a try.

I’m a big fan of eating breakfast at any time of the day. This is probably why I love brunchtime as it gives me a giant window in which to eat all my favourite breakfast foods (not that the evening hours are much of a deterrent). Like many Calgarians, flocking to my local brunch hangout is a weekend must – but the lineups are a super drag. The bf and I have been exploring non-traditional brunch restaurants to get our morning fix while avoiding the crowds of the popular brunch spots.
